Coaches Corner # 2

Swim and Dive,

Thank you all for such a great swim meet Saturday. We had some great swims, and we were very proud of all the sportsmanship we displayed. Way to represent Lambert!

I wanted to give a special shoutout to our amazing captains, who helped organize relays and made sure everyone got to their events on time and kept the team spirit high all meet! Maddie Lauria even drove over after taking the ACT to show her support for the team!

Also, thank you to the divers who stepped up and filled in for the missing timers. Caleb Fraser, Connor Williams, Garrett Tate, and Isabella Longo all timed after their event to make sure our meet could move along smoothly.

Finally, thank you to Rachel Park, who as Coach Berry put it “was freaking awesome with the Lil’horns” and made sure they were organized and too the blocks on time for their events!

You guys are rockstars and we want to commend you all for your contributions to Lambert Swim and Dive.

Important Date Changes

- October 31^st NO PRACTICE for Halloween.

- November 5^th Sandwich Project Rescheduled for November 12^th

Meet Information Fall Frenzy November 2^nd

Meet is only open to High School Swimmers (NO Divers or Lil’horns this time around.)

Location:

- Francis Meadows Aquatic Center: 1545 Community Way, Gainesville GA 30501

Meet Timeline:

- Bus Leaves Lambert at 8:10 (arrive by 7:50)

- Warmup 9:00

- Meet Start 10:00

- Meet Estimated End: TBD (Meet host will share once entries are in)

- All swimmers are expected to ride the bus to and from the meet.

- Anyone with a conflict needs to contact Coach Langley by Friday before 4:00 PM. I will share the bus release form with those individuals who are approved to leave or arrive via car.

Registering For Meets:

Remember you need to declare your intention to attend, or to not attend for each meet on Swimtopia under the season calendar tab!

Sign up by:

- Sign up for Fall Frenzy (High School Swimmers Only) by midnight Tuesday October 29^th

- Meet is open for signups now!

- Sign up for LHS Rodeo Meet (High School & Middle School Swimmers & Divers) by midnight Sunday November 3^rd

- Meet will open for signups on Wednesday.

Swimtopia Calendar Updates

To make meets easier to plan for I have updated the calendar online to show the estimated start times and end times, as well as the meet address. Please view the Longhorn and Lil’horn Calendars on Swimtopia for your events.

These calendars are tentative and might be updated for these events as changes occur.

Community Events

A great way to give back to our community is coming up on November 16^th and 17^th. The Fred swim meet will be held at the Cumming Aquatic Center this year! If you don’t know, the Fred is the largest swim meet for disabled swimmers in the country and this year there are expected to be around 70 athletes competing.

This is a great way to give back to our community. Please come and volunteer if you are able. All who attend should wear your Lambert Swim gear to show off our Longhorn pride. I will be there timing with you all!

Our very own Lexi Flanders is in charge of volunteers this year! If you are interested, please message me or swing by my room (2912) to sign up. Thank you, Lexi!
